History

The Vacaville Opera House was originally built by Sidney Clay Walker in 1897. Walker was one of the original organizers of the Vacaville Water and Light Company. The Opera House originally featured a 600 seat theatre for operas and shows. Since Walker's death in 1908 the Opera House has been home to a movie theatre and Masonic Lodge Hall. For a time, the first floor was occupied by the Golden West Market.

"My husband and I had our wedding reception here and it was everything and more than we had expected. We did not decorate because this location is absolutely beautiful. The wooden floors and chandeliers are just stunning. Nicole was the one I mostly stayed in contact with up until my event, she is wonderful. Patty helped me the night of the event and was a great help."

"The Will C Wood Class of 1993 Alumni and Reunion Committee, thank you all for your wonderful venue. The customer service, hospitality, custom decor, fresh flowers and catering/DJ recommendations were perfect. Our 20-year high school reunion turned our great with so many compliments all night long. Thank you again for helping bring friends together for a fun night."

"Great venue for parties big or small. Reasonably priced and centrally located for our family and friends. The bar set up was especially great, because it is in a room separate from the tables and dance floor. Our event was purposely casual, but I saw photos of it dressed up for a wedding and it is simply stunning with the chairs in slip covers and fancy centerpieces."
